Emeritus Professors Help Support Summer Student Research
Two emeritus faculty members who are supporting summer research experiences at 好色TV visited campus on July 8th to meet with faculty and student researchers.
Dr. Daniel Beach, who taught in the psychology department for more than 50 years until his retirement in 2024, and Dr. Margaret (Margo) Jonah, who taught in the biology department for more than 40 years before retiring in 2019, met with students who are gaining valuable research experience through funds that each professor established.
Beach created the Beach Summer Research Scholarship to support undergraduate research experiences in psychology and/or neuroscience. Jonah and her husband, Chuck, support many educational opportunities, including the Sr. Mary Ellen O鈥橦anlon Memorial Fund, which is an award for undergraduate STEM majors to conduct and present research.
Student Priscilla Lopez, a psychology major, is working on psychology-related research with Dr. Lauren Pagano Hush, and Vanessa Solis, a neuroscience major, is working with Dr. Robert Calin-Jageman in the Slug Lab, researching memory using sea slugs.
